Friday Arrangements

School closes at 12:00 on Friday.

Children can wear their own clothes to school on Friday and do not need to wear trip uniform. Children can also bring in a toy from home to play with.

Christmas Nativity DVD

Our Christmas Nativity 'One Holy Night' was recorded by Steven's Dad and the DVD is available now for a minimum donation of £4.00. The DVD is available from Mrs Mole at the school and you can order one by emailing her directly (sm@cedars.inverclyde.sch.uk). We would like to get the bulk of these given out by Christmas so please order immediately to ensure you have the DVD by Friday. Many thanks to Graham Mellstrom as it looks excellent!

Christmas Play

Wednesday

On Wednesday we are going to the Imax cinema at the Science Centre. All children should bring a packed lunch as we will not be back at school in time for lunch. No money is needed. Thanks.

Tuesday

We are going to Fun World tomorrow. It is also the Christmas lunch for those who have booked. Those children not getting a Christmas lunch must bring a packed lunch to eat as there will be nothing else to buy tomorrow.

Christmas biscuits

Samuel brought in some yummy biscuits he had made at home with his mum and shared them with his friends. We will be finishing them off tomorrow.

Activities Week

Well what a super start we have had to activities week. We wrote a Christmas list, decorated Christmas boxes, listened to stories, played some music, watched part of a Christmas DVD and made peppermint creams and candy sticks.

Well done to Adam who is pupil of the term in P2. He has worked really hard is always polite and friendly.

Nativity Play

A little reminder about tonight. Children should come to the Church at 6.30pm. Own clothes can be worn. Children can bring a little snack but only water to drink as to avoid spillages on the costumes. The play lasts for about an hour and the coffee shop will be open afterwards. We are looking forward to the performance and seeing you all there.

This morning ......

This morning we were on the Good Morning Scotland show on BBC Radio Scotland. It was a great, and rather humorous, advert for our Christmas play which is on tonight and tomorrow night in the church.



Some of the main characters spoke to Huw Williams who came to ask them about the experience.



You can listen to the interview yourself. Huw also came back for a surprise visit and gifted us a new doll to replace our old and slightly battered baby Jesus. Many thanks Huw!

Radio Scotland

Radio Scotland recorded some of the Christmas play yesterday during our rehearsal. We are being broadcasted tomorrow morning on Good Morning Scotland. It was all very exciting.

We had the backdrops and lights for our practise today. The Church is looking wonderful. We are all so excited.

Pupil of the week

Well done to Molly who is pupil of the week in P2. She has been working really hard on her handwriting. Keep up the good work.

Horse riding

We received a phone call this morning from horse riding to cancel our session as they are resurfacing the arena. We were disappointed but cheered ourselves up with a Christmas DVD.

New classroom

Today P2 moved into the P1 classroom to join P1 as after Christmas we are getting two new pupils and we would have been too squashed in the attic. We will be operating as two separate classes in the mornings but will join together in the afternoon for things like topic, science, art, music and drama, as we already do. This will be a super move.
