Technology for Excellence

In the school today, and tomorrow, we are hosting a "Technology for Excellence" conference about the use and deployment of 1:1 ipads in education. Approximately 30 delegates from all over the world will be attending the conference and will take part in teacher led seminars, classroom visits and hands on demonstrations. Today was super start to the conference and I am sure that tomorrow will be as well.

Open Day

We are having an open day in the school on Saturday 1st October from 10 am - 12 noon. All are welcome to drop in for a tour of the building, to take part in some short iPad workshops (for children and accompanying adults!), come to an overview presentation of aspects of the work of the school, listen to the senior choir sing and have the opportunity to talk to the staff and friends of the school. There will also opportunity to get some light refreshments in aid of MacMillan Cancer Care. I am pleased that so many of you are able to come. I look forward to seeing you there!

Topic afternoon

We had a super topic afternoon. We were doing police activities. One group was using type drawing to make a police car or a police officer.

Another group was typing a thank you to Michelle the police officer who visited us.

Another group were playing a matching game and another group were doing jigsaws.

The house corner has now changed into a doctors surgery too.

money

I have been delighted with how well our money work has gone in P2. Everyone has tried so hard and we have learned new mathematical processes. We are now moving on to working with numbers up to 100. We will obviously begin with numbers to 30 and then build it up from there.

Bank

Today we welcomed Mrs Airth into the class to speak to us about how the bank help people. She told us about what jobs people do in the bank and the ways in which the bank helps us. We all got a shot of using the bank stamps.

Rachael and Cain helped to hold up a poster of different bank notes.

I think we may have some tellers in the making.

Mrs Airth also comes in to do the school bank.

Pupils of the Week

Well done to Rebekah and Rachael who are both pupils of the week in P2. They are both very neat workers in class.

Comprehension

We were choosing sentences which described the picture. We like doing ticks and crosses.

Road Safety

Today we had Eileen in to speak to us about road safety. She told us to always stop, look, listen and think before we cross the road and to always wear a seatbelt on the car and sit on a booster seat. She brought some pencils and reflectors for the children too.
